First Metro Promotes Four

November 3, 2023
The First Metro Bank Board of Directors is proud to announce the promotion of four bank employees. Rhonda Garrett, Michael Hoehn, Michael Cummings, and Reed Reynolds were each promoted as a result of the dedication and commitment they have continuously shown throughout their years of service at First Metro Bank.

Rhonda Garrett has been promoted to Senior Vice President in her role as Compliance Officer. Rhonda has been with First Metro Bank since 1995, initially serving as a lending assistant and loan officer at the bank’s Russellville office. She served in that role until 2006, when she received a promotion and moved to the bank’s headquarters in Muscle Shoals. In 2014, Rhonda was promoted to the role of Compliance Officer. For the past two years, she has also served as the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act Officer.

Michael Hoehn has been promoted to Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer, Assistant Compliance Officer, and Assistant Cashier. Michael joined the First Metro Bank team in 2012 as a part-time courier while pursuing an economics degree at the University of North Alabama. In 2014, he was promoted to a full-time role in the bank’s Credit Department and was later promoted to work in the bank’s audit department. In 2022, Michael was once again promoted to CRA coordinator and Compliance Assistant. Michael is a graduate of the inaugural class of First Metro Bank’s Certified Banker Program in 2022.
Michael Cummings has been promoted to Assistant Cashier. Michael started his banking career as a part-time teller at the Russellville branch in 2017 while pursuing a degree from the University of North Alabama. After his graduation from UNA, he accepted a full-time teller position at the bank’s headquarters in Muscle Shoals. When the bank built its second Muscle Shoals location, Michael was selected to serve as the bank’s first Universal Banker, as well as Branch Supervisor. In 2022, Michael became the bank’s Digital Branch Manager and, additionally, graduated from the inaugural class of First Metro Bank’s Certified Banker Program.

Reed Reynolds has been promoted to Assistant Cashier. Reed joined the First Metro Bank team in 2017 when the bank expanded to Limestone County and opened its branch in Downtown Athens. Reed served as a customer service representative and lending assistant until earlier this year when the bank opened its second Athens location, and Reed was named Branch Supervisor. He is also a graduate of the inaugural class of First Metro Bank’s Certified Banker Program. “The First Metro Bank Board of Directors and I are grateful for the service, enthusiasm, and loyalty that Rhonda, Michael, Reed, and Michael have shown. We are pleased to promote these four outstanding individuals and look forward to celebrating their continued successes,” said Rodney Howard, President and CEO.
