The First Metro Bank Board of Directors is proud to announce the promotion of three bank employees. Cory King, Whitney Skipworth, and Jeanne Soni were all promoted to Assistant Vice President.
Cory King joined First Metro Bank in 2012 as an integral part of the Technology Operations Department. King’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, in addition to, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama. His responsibilities include oversight of the Bank’s cybersecurity program, as well as, the maintenance and operation of the information technology infrastructure of First Metro Bank. As an officer, King will continue to work as technology operations manager while working to ensure First Metro Bank meets the growing demand for digital banking solutions.
Jeanne Soni began her banking career at First Metro Bank in December 2008 after receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. Her work ethic proved her devotion to the Bank and its customers; therefore, Soni has received the following promotions during her tenor at First Metro Bank: customer service representative/lending assistant, assistant branch manager, and most recently she was promoted to branch manager of the Muscle Shoals office. As Assistant Vice President, she will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Muscle Shoals office while serving customers’ banking needs.
Whitney Skipworth has served as a banker in the Athens area for over ten years, and joined First Metro Bank in December 2017. Skipworth received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Alabama. He currently serves as a loan officer at the downtown Athens location where he is responsible for assisting customers with mortgage loans, construction loans, consumer loans, and commercial loans. Whitney is heavily involved in the Athens community evidenced by his participation on numerous committees and boards in the city. As an officer of the bank and the Athens Branch Manager, Whitney will continue to ensure the success of the Bank’s downtown Athens’ office.
