First Metro Bank and its Board of Directors is proud to announce the promotion of three devoted Bank employees: Sherry Burt, Cory King, and Laura Hardy.
Sherry Burt started her banking career in January of 1990 at the original First Metro Bank location working as a full-time teller. Through her continued hard work and success, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2016. During the past five years, Sherry has continued to guide a great team of employees in a department that is constantly meeting the needs of First Metro Bank customers as electronic banking utilization continues to grow significantly. Sherry’s promotion to Vice President is a direct result of her job performance and her 31 years of service to First Metro Bank.
Cory King joined First Metro Bank in December 2012 as part of the technology operations department. Cory was promoted to Technology Operations Manager and Assistant Vice President in May 2019. He has been instrumental in the overall success of the Bank through technology advancements to meet the growing demand for digital solutions that are safe and secure for the community bank’s customers and employees. As a result of his outstanding job performance, Cory is promoted to Vice President.
Laura Hardy joined First Metro Bank in January 2008 as a part-time teller while pursuing a degree in accounting. After completing her degree, Laura continued working at the community bank where she eventually accepted a position in their accounting department in 2016. She has excelled in her role and expanded her knowledge and expertise. Laura is promoted to Comptroller and will be actively involved in managing the Bank’s accounting and financial reporting tasks.
