First Metro Bank Adds to Executive Leadership Team

December 10, 2021

First Metro Bank, along with its Board of Directors, proudly expands their Executive Team by promoting two well-deserved employees, LeAnn Long and Leigh Ann Pierce.

LeAnn Long joined First Metro Bank in February 2007 as Human Resources Director where she has spent over fourteen years going above and beyond to ensure the needs of all First Metro Bank employees and customers are met.  She also oversees the Relationship Banking Department which houses the marketing, education/training, and merchant services sectors of the financial institution.  In addition to her job responsibilities, she has played an important part in creating and maintaining a welcoming work environment that is crafted around the community bank’s slogan, “Bank with a Neighbor.”

LeAnn has been an exceptional employee and leader while maintaining a balance of her work and personal life. Her husband, Barrett Long, serves as pastor at First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia.  They enjoy being involved in the community and spending time with their family.

LeAnn has been promoted by the board of directors to Executive Vice President where she will join the First Metro Bank Executive Team in overseeing the operations and overall success of the Bank.

Leigh Ann Pierce became part of First Metro Bank in October 1998 as a lending assistant at the main office in Muscle Shoals.  In September 2013, the Bank established a centralized loan processing department and Leigh Ann was named the Loan Services Supervisor.  Under her leadership, the loan services department has been extremely efficient and successful for the community bank.  In addition to her duties in the loan services department, Leigh Ann has also served as Assistant Executive Secretary to the First Metro Bank Board of Directors for 17 years.  Due to her long outstanding performance at First Metro, the Bank selected her to attend Alabama Banking School where she graduated in 2014.

Leigh Ann Pierce also does a great job of balancing home and work.  Her husband, Elmer Pierce, is part owner of a successful local business, Garner-Pierce Autos.  They also enjoy being involved in the community and spending time with their three children.

Leigh Ann has been promoted to Executive Secretary by the First Metro Bank Board of Directors.  In her new role, she is responsible for facilitating monthly board meetings and maintaining strong relationships with the community bank’s shareholders.

“The addition of these two women to the First Metro Bank Executive Team is only going to strengthen our team,” said Rodney Howard, President and CEO. “We are proud to promote two very deserving employees while expanding our leadership throughout the Bank.”

First Metro Bank congratulates LeAnn and Leigh Ann on this well-deserved promotion.  They are sure to excel in their new roles, making the successful community bank even stronger and allowing them to better serve their customers and all of Northwest Alabama.
